Sydney Hosanna is a not-for-profit mission organisation based in Sydney. We are actively serving local churches, missionaries and indigenous communities in Australia, Cambodia, Kenya and Thailand.
Sydney Hosanna was founded in 1994 in Sydney, Australia by a group of young people and pastors with a heart to foster worship and mission in Korean churches in Sydney.
It started as a group of young people desiring to worship God together, seeking God's will for their lives and for the group. In 1997, God opened up the door for Sydney Hosanna to become a mission organisation that today serves people in Kenya, Cambodia, Thailand, Armenia and Sydney.
In 2003, members of Sydney Hosanna met with missionaries working in Cambodia, resulting in a partnership with several local missionaries to support church planting ministries and mercy ministries working with disadvantaged women, children and families.
Sydney Hosanna now also supports the Hope School in Cambodia that provides top tier education to students who would not otherwise receive such an education that allows families to break out of the poverty cycle within one generation and brings many students into the fold of Christ.
In 2014, the 'Business As Mission' Team in Sydney Hosanna, in consultation with New Hope Church leaders and other locals, started the Envoy Hostel Ministry as a way to not only generate income for missions but as a way to provide employment for local Christians and as a way to reach out to local non-believers too.
It closed down during Covid but the fruit of that ministry still lives on in several members of New Hope Church who were discipled during their time at Envoy Hostel and some who even came to faith during their employment at the Hostel.
In 2014, members of Sydney Hosanna met a missionary working in Kenya who talked about the great need for a school in a region of Kenya where children did not receive a quality education.
Sydney Hosanna decided to not only help financially but also in the establishment of the Hosanna Gardens Academy in Mikameni, which is now a top ranked school in the Tana River district. This school now plays an integral role in bringing students to Christ but also helping them lift their families out of the cycle of poverty.
We work with local Christians and the Light Bible Institute to strengthen local churches and pastors as well as serve the community in a variety of ways that bring glory to God and improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged in society.
